Dr Law currently holds positions at the Pain Relief Unit in Oxford and West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Simon Law is a dedicated Consultant in Pain Medicine. He was trained in Oxford gaining a wealth of experience and currently holds NHS consultant positions with Cambridge University Associated Hospitals and The Churchill Hospital, Oxford. His teaching and research activities cover a full spectrum of chronic pain conditions and treatments, offering the latest evidenced based approach to managing pain. Dr Law has strong research links with the Pain Research Unit in Oxford and has published a wealth of high quality research papers and chapters. Dr Law has received training in legal writing and is familiar with medicolegal concepts. He is currently studying for a Masters in Law degree from the University of Cardiff and is published in this field. He produces a large number of medical reports per year in the field of personal injury and clinical negligence and prides himself on providing streamlined expert witness reports in a professional user friendly format which have been vetted by experts. Dr Law is also experienced in joint statements and has given evidence to counsel.

Process; from beginning to end explained

Following instruction from a solicitor, Dr Simon Law will provide a estimated fee based on work required for his service which will begin a step-by-step process;

STEP ONE;

Once fees have been agreed and our terms and conditions have been signed by the Solicitor, Pain and Law will arrange a medicolegal appointment with Dr Simon Law as soon as possible. Your Client will receive any relevant questionnaires to fill out prior to the medicolegal appointment. All documentation must be received from the Solicitor prior to the medicolegal appointment being arranged.

STEP TWO;

Examination - Dr Simon Law will carry out a complete pain medicine examination. If for any reason the examination is not or cannot be included, the instructing Solicitor will be contacted.

STEP THREE;

Following all of the above; instruction, receipt and review of documents and the medicolegal appointment (where and if required), Dr Simon Law will draft and finalise his full medicolegal report and submit the medicolegal report to the instructing Solicitor for the Court within the agreed time frame.

Fees and Rates

All our fees very depending on the amount of work that is required. All fees are subject to VAT. Dr Simon Law’s fees are not subject to assessment or taxation by the Court and are not dependent upon the successful outcome of the case. All fees are due on submission of the report and should be paid within 28 days of the invoice.

Dr Simon Law has a 75% for Claimant & 25% for Defendant ratio. Upon request Dr Simon Law can provide potential instructing Solicitors with a redacted medicolegal report, full medical CV and T&Cs
